Kim Lammers starred for the Tasman Mako women against Hawke’s Bay in their second Farah Palmer Cup match of the season in Blenheim on Saturday.
The former Kahurangi wing was a constant threat, with power and pace taking the Poneke co-captain to a try in each half.
Skipper and prop Stefani Mitchall scored the first try for the Mako, from close range, and the home side led 15-14 at the break.
The Tui proved too strong though, ultimately winning 36-22.
The women now travel to Dunedin to play the Otago Spirit on Friday afternoon with both sides seeking their first win in the Farah Palmer Cup.
Meanwhile, the men came from behind at half-time to tame the Wellington Lions 42-28.
Wing Kyren Taumoefolau tapped and ran from just outside his own 22m line to grab his 11th try of the NPC season, while Macca Springer celebrated his return from injury, on the other flank, with his first of the campaign.
The fifth-placed Mako faces Otago, one position higher, on Friday night.
