Three Motueka women are helping local residents enrol to vote ahead of the November election.
Chris Hickson, Alice Adair and Diana Murdoch describe themselves as “supportive aunties” and have been working with the Electoral Commission to encourage voter enrolment. They are currently volunteering through community campaigning organisation ActionStation as part of a nationwide enrolment initiative.
The trio will be available at the Motueka Sunday Market over the next two weeks to assist people with enrolling. They will also be at Community House next Tuesday from 10am to 12pm.
New Zealanders have until midnight on 25 October to enrol to vote in the election, which will be held on 7 November.
