Motueka South School students transformed into their favourite book characters as creativity took centre stage at the school's annual book parade.
Saucepans, broomsticks and magic wands were among the props on display, with a coven of witches, a parade of princesses and a mob of Minecraft characters filling the playground on Friday.
The parade marked the culmination of the school's Book Week celebrations, with classroom window displays and students' costumes judged by local librarians.
The winning classroom windows shared an ocean theme, with Room Five's Rainbow Fish, Room Seven's Lost in the Reef and Room 10's I Am Jellyfish taking top honours.
Costume awards went to Aubrey Smits and Noah Bishop, Viggo Bunny and Aphra Fisher, and Maddison Mitchell and Roman Smits.
