Emergency services are responding to a serious crash that has blocked State Highway 6 at Pelorus Bridge.
The single-vehicle crash happened between Maungatapu and Bulford roads at about 10.30am.
One person is reported to be in a critical condition.

There is no estimated time for when the highway will reopen, and it is likely to be closed for some time while investigations occur.
Drivers are asked to avoid the area and delay their travel.
No immediate local road detours are available, meaning there is no direct access between Nelson and Blenheim on State Highway 6 until this incident is resolved.
The only available route is via State Highway 63 Wairau Valley and State Highway 6 south of Nelson. This is a much longer route and will require extra travel time.
