Tasman Area Association Committee members and local volunteers have planted 25 new fruit trees at the Tasman Memorial Domain orchard.
The trees were added to the community orchard, which provides free fruit for local residents.
The planting day was a success, thanks to the careful planning of Steve Richards and the enthusiasm of volunteers who turned out to help.
The committee would like to acknowledge the generous support of sponsors MCL Fruit, Waimea Nurseries, Thirkettle Nurseries, Mitre 10 Motueka, Stonescape and David Easton. A special thank you also goes to members of the local community who donated both their time and money towards the project.
The Tasman Area Association Committee hopes to continue expanding its planting programme in the future, further enhancing the orchard for the benefit of the community.
