SH6 motorists can pull into a Richmond complex for fried chook, burgers and noodles “before Christmas” and collect items from a pharmacy giant in the New Year.
Construction on the former SBL bus site on McGlashen Ave, which has been developed by Blackcomb Property Group, will be done and dusted in a fortnight.
The Christchurch and Auckland-based company's director, Henri Yeoman, says most of the buildings have now been handed over to confirmed tenants Popeyes, BurgerFuel, Noodle Canteen and Bargain Chemist for fit-outs.
Ribbon cutting dates for these businesses are yet to be confirmed.
Henri says the remaining café tenancy and large-format retail space has garnered interest.
“We've got a café tenancy where we're just working with a couple of tenants at the moment, and we've got one larger tenancy of 67 square meters, which is still for lease, and we are working with two tenants on that at the moment,” he says.
“We're happy with the development as a whole.
“With the growth that Richmond's had and continues to have, a lot of these tenants and occupiers want to come to the region, so there's local demand for it, and it'll bring jobs and more spending into the local economy.”
The development includes 69 car parks, with entry and exit points from McGlashen Ave and Doran St.
