HYDE, Joyce

On 27 May 2026, Joyce passed away peacefully in Nelson.

Dearly loved wife of John Hyde for 65 years, and much-loved mother and mother-in-law of Martin and Rosie (Nelson), and Peter and Maree (Christchurch). Cherished nana of Lucy and Tom (Nelson), Kate (London), and James (Perth), and treasured great-nana of Eleanor and Olive (Perth).

Joyce lived her early life in Dunedin and was the daughter of the late Chub and Harry Wilkinson. She went on to have a long and dedicated career in school teaching in both Dunedin and Nelson.

A private family service will be held to celebrate Joyce’s life. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Nelson Tasman Hospice.
