Charles John (John) Lewis

21 September 1937 – 7 July 2026.

Passed away far too soon at Redwood Care Centre and Village, in his 89th year.

Dearly loved husband of the late Gloria for 65 years. Cherished father of the late Michael and Racquel, and Gail. Adored grandfather of Liz and Scott, Hamish and Kate; and great-grandfather known as Poppy, to Abigail and Nikolai.

John’s strength and unwavering love for his family will be dearly missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.

Messages to the family may be sent to 65B Weld Street, Redwoodtown, Blenheim 7201. In John’s memory, donations to Order of St John New Zealand, account 12-3244-0055909-02, would be appreciated in lieu of flowers.

A funeral service to celebrate John’s life will be held at St Christopher’s Anglican Church, Weld Street, Redwoodtown, at 1.30pm on Tuesday, 14 July 2026. The service will be livestreamed and may be viewed via www.sowmans.co.nz
