Andrew Deverell Whelan

After a courageous battle Andrew had his last flight and departed from home at 1745 hrs, surrounded by his family, on Saturday 22 August 2026.

A dearly loved husband of Rhonda, father of Tim and Vanessa, father-in-law to Jeff Hammond and adored “Grumpy” to James & William.

A special thanks to family and friends for their support. Also a huge thanks to Hospice Marlborough for their loving care and support.

At Andrew’s request, absolutely no flowers, he would prefer a donation to Hospice Marlborough which can be made via their website.

A private cremation has been held and a celebration of Andrew’s life will be held at Springlands Chapel, Cloudy Bay Funeral Services, 15 Boyce Street, Blenheim on Saturday, 29 August at 2pm.

The service will be live-streamed and can be viewed on the Cloudy Bay Funeral Services website.
