WHIPP Joan née Stark

Born Eton, London, UK on 3 July 1937.   Passed away peacefully, aged 88 years on 25 June 2026, surrounded by family at Oakwoods Retirement Village in Richmond.   Much loved wife of Peter; mother-in-law of Sam and Jan, Barb and Joe, Mike and April, and Donna; Nana of Tessa, Steve and Izzy; sister-in-law of Jill, Lindsay, and Diana.  Joan brought light, joy, laughter, and a bit of cheek to all who knew her.  The family wishes to express their deep gratitude to the staff and residents of Oakwoods for all their support, kindness, messages, and visits.  The details of a summer memorial service, to be held at Club Waimea, 345 Queen Street, Richmond, will be announced closer to time.   In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Nelson Tasman Hospice Trust or to the Hato Hone (St John) Ambulance Service.   Tributes, stories and memories can be left on Joan’s tribute page  www.marsdenhouse.co.nz
