DAY Erin Joan nee McMurray.

25 January 1941 – 9 October 2026

Passed away peacefully at Nelson Hospice surrounded by her loving family.  A beautiful, courageous, staunch, proud, capable, loving and devoted wife to Raymond (Ray) for 62 years of endless shared adventures.  Loved mother and mother-in-law to Alexa and Kevin, Jacqui, Marcus and Jackie.  A very much loved Nanna to her 5 grandchildren Sam, Ben, Zoe, Jemma, and Maddie.  She was proud of them all.  Erin is at peace at last.  Only she knew the real battle she fought.  A life saved by Sir Brian Barret Boyes in 1962.  Special thanks to all the staff at the Wakefield Health Centre and the Nelson Tasman Hospice staff.

Erin has gone now but will never be forgotten. Loved forever.  In lieu of flowers donation The Nelson Tasman Hospice would be appreciated and can be made at the service or at https://www.nelsonhospice.org.nz/support-hospice/donate-funds/

A service to celebrate Erin’s amazing life will be held at The Gardens of the World, 95 Clover Road East, Hope on  Friday 30 October 2026 at 11.00am.
