LAVERTY Gertrude Emilie (Trudy)

Peacefully on 11 October 2026 at Stillwater Gardens, aged 95 years.

From Austria to New Zealand, Alps to the beach, Trudy embraced life with unparalleled optimism, a huge amount of resilience, compassion and kindness to everyone she met.

Her 95 years living with us mere mortals brought joy to everyone around her and her strong faith was the foundation of who she was.

Her sense of humour and acceptance of everyone made her as popular as did her exceptional german baking skills!

Mum- I’m going to miss you hugely but know you’re exactly where you wanted to be and can now dance again, laugh with Dad, old friends (and of course old boyfriends) and just generally light up heaven with your smile.

To my sister Gail- you were the best friend and extended family Mum could have hoped for in every way.

To Tim, Lynne, Molly, Yvonne, and all of her many, many friends over the years- thank you for being there for Mum- she loved you all so much.

To the beyond wonderful Team at Stillwater Gardens Retirement Village, Mum loved each and every one of you and we’re all eternally grateful for the love, care and compassion you gave to Mum- you’re real angels.

In keeping with Trudy’s wishes a private cremation has taken place
