In this solutions-focused session chaired by Kim Hill, three visionaries in the field – Kiwis in Climate contributing author Nick Morrison; Trisia Farrelly ONZM from Cawthron Institute; and environmental scientist and kaupapa Māori researcher Aneika Young – will explore how tackling climate change can improve our lives. Kiwis in Climate, edited by Tessa Vincent, brings together bold and practical visions for Aotearoa to lead on climate solutions. Leading scientists, politicians, CEOs and citizens demonstrate what we are doing now – and what we must do – to mitigate and adapt to the impacts of climate change. In his insightful Kiwis in Climate essay, ‘Why Sustainability is Good for Business’, Nick Morrison advocates for a circular, regenerative and inclusive economy. He outlines the benefits for businesses who understand the resources they are consuming, the waste they are creating and other associated costs and illustrates why and how sustainability is good for business.
