Willow Bank Heritage Village is an affordable, fun and interactive living museum 1km south of Wakefield. With more than 20 shop displays to explore, food and drink, and plenty more, it's a place to dress up, embrace the fun, and immerse yourself in times gone by.
Actors and volunteers create a unique cultural experience with a range of activities inspired by the early 1900s. Willow Bank is always growing and changing, so there is something new to discover with every visit.
Features include:
Print shop: Our historic print shop will be open, giving visitors the chance to print on our original 1875 Albion Printing Press. A hands-on opportunity to try something truly unique.
Victorian school experience: Mr Wilkinson will be running classes throughout the day. Please book outside the schoolhouse on arrival.
Cinema experience: Watch a short film on our Super 8 projector and screen, presented by our experienced projectionist.
Dress up and look the part: Pick up a map at the entrance, visit the dress shop, find your character and step back in time. As we like to say, “Willow Bank is a stage and you are part of the play.”
Victorian café: Enjoy local Sublime Coffee brewed in a restored 100-year-old espresso machine, or choose from a selection of Pomeroys teas served in fine china. Cakes, scones with homemade jam, tea sandwiches and gluten-free options are also available.

1970s milk bar: Serving milkshakes, spiders and ice creams.
Village open to explore: Wander through the village and tailor the experience to your own interests.
